Why we love this cruise line

One of the world’s most luxurious and elegant cruise lines with some of the world’s most renowned ships.

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to consume alcohol; however, when in US waters, this minimum age requirement is raised to 21 years of age. Proof of age may be required.

Guests may bring one bottle of wine or champagne per person (over the age of 21) onboard the cruise ship, however Cunard reserves the right to remove alcoholic drinks at the gangway should it be necessary to do so in the interest of guest safety and comfort. Wine or champagne that has been brought onboard for consumption in a restaurant will be subject to a $20.00 corkage fee.

Any alcoholic drinks purchased in the shops onboard are not for consumption onboard and may be collected at the end of your cruise.

Children are allowed to occupy staterooms, however the first two people occupying a stateroom will be charged the full adult rate regardless of their age.  Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 on all onshore excursions.

During the day, casual wear, including smart jeans and shorts, is appropriate throughout the ship. Swimwear, sarongs, micro shorts and gym wear are only recommended by the pool, on deck or in the Spa and Fitness Centre. Before entering any enclosed area, all swimwear must be covered.

There are two dress codes for the evening: formal and informal. For informal evenings, men should wear a jacket with tie optional, whilst women should wear a cocktail dress, stylish separates or similar attire. For formal evenings, men should wear a tuxedo, dinner jacket or dark suit with tie, whilst women should wear a cocktail or evening dress. Men may hire formal wear onboard the ship.

After 6pm, the following items of clothing are not considered appropriate: shorts and worn or blue denim for both men and women and sleeveless tops and sandals for men. On formal nights, guests who wish to dress more casually are invited to dine in the Lido or Kings Court restaurant and enjoy drinks in the Winter Garden or Garden Lounge bar. They should not use other areas of the ship out of respect for those wishing to dress more formally.

Infants must be at least six months old in order to travel. For Transatlantic crossings, World Voyages and certain other cruises, infants must be at least 12 months of age.

Pregnant women are permitted to cruise so long as they don’t enter the 24th week of pregnancy at any time during the cruise. Their doctor must also have confirmed that both mother and baby are fit enough to travel.

Prior to travelling, the Medical Department will need proof of the expected delivery date and confirmation of fitness to travel. The Medical Department can be contacted by email at, by fax at 02380 657364 or by writing to:

Each time you connect to the Internet, the first minute of usage will be free so that if there is a problem with the signal in the first minute, you may disconnect without incurring any charges.
